The Essence of Calmness

Calmness and gentleness are  virtues required for a clear understanding of God. Whatever you know about God in a haste is bound to be faulty if not properly checked. You must subject it to proper Holy Ghost scrutiny. Does it align with the will of God? Does it appeal to God’s wisdom? Can it be trusted to yield results that will correlate with the will of God? Can it stand the test of time? Are you sure it was inspired by the Holy Ghost?

Many believers will save themselves a lot of trouble if only they embrace calmness. Never get rowdy with God, because He is a very organized person. He will never get you to do something that will end no sooner than it had started.

Long lasting revelations that changed the world were not gotten in a hurry or in the midst of rowdiness. Why do you think that God will commit something tangible into your hands when you’ve never had any composure?

The best that can be gotten in the midst of hastiness and rowdiness is a mere passive knowledge. It is a weak knowledge that can sometimes be misleading.

When calmness deserts a man’s life, then order and meaningfulness are lost. You can not stay on the surface level and expect to find the deep things of God. That’s why you must seek for something more.

To understand the deep things of God you have to go deep. Shallowness pays only for a passive period. You must be calm.

The Lord says “Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the  heathen, I will be exalted in the earth “. Psalms 46:10.

It is in the stillness that God unveils His all to you. To a large extent, you can not be able to see God in His exalted form if you are not still.
